About Us
Our Story: A love story in Paris, a gift for cooking, and a village called Anna.

It all started far from here. Ángela, from Ayora in Valencia, and Antonio, from Cervaña in Pontevedra, Galicia, met in Paris, where both of them were working. They fell in love, got married, and in 1986 decided to leave the City of Light behind and head to Spain — to a quiet little village in the interior of Valencia called Anna.
Five years later, in 1991, with a whole lot of hard work, a whole lot of heart, and Ángela’s hands setting the rhythm in the kitchen, they opened Mesón Lar Galego. A name that says it all: lar — which in Galician means home, the place where family gathers — and a nod to Antonio’s roots, who never stopped bringing the very best of Galicia to the table.
Quietly, steadily, the mesón carved out its place in the area. People came for the food and came back for the warmth. And so, year after year, Lar Galego became something more than a restaurant: it became a home.
Today, Ramón and Salvador — Ángela and Antonio’s sons — carry the torch with the same love as always, and that touch of modernity that the times call for. They’ve refreshed the menu, the wine cellar and the space, but they’ve kept what nobody asked them to change: the personal touch, the honest cooking, and the feeling that here, whoever walks through the door is welcome.
